We were pleased to once again support Grounded Events Company in the delivery of the 2022 edition of Brighton Marathon Weekend.
Each year over 12,000 runners take part in the marathon, which begins in Preston Park, snakes its way through Brighton city centre, along the beachfront, and finishes in front of thousands of cheering spectators at the renowned Madeira Drive.
The event featured an onsite expo with a variety of things to see, do, and buy, including talks with experts, pre and post-race massage, retail, cuisine, drinks, and live screens, in addition to the numerous sporting events including the full Marathon, BM10k, BM Ride, or Mini Mile Races.
In a drive to continually improve the service we offer, this year we upgraded the event’s radio system to a 2-site Motorola Capacity Max network. This improved coverage in previously challenging areas, enabled greater control over radio traffic, and offered GPS tracking and call recording via the TRBONet console.
Over 750 handportable radios were distributed and managed by our team in Brighton, who were on-site throughout the event weekend to support radio users and the event control team.
