Hand portable two-way radios (walkie talkies) have now become an essential tool for use in schools and colleges. They provide rapid vital communications where health and safety and security issues arise within school buildings and surrounding grounds. Staff members that are moving around a site and are not within easy reach of a telephone or are in other ways difficult to locate can easily be contacted with the use of suitable radio equipment.
