Most mobile radios can be used as a fixed mobile / dispatcher / desktop base with the addition of a 240vac/12vdc power supply, a suitable microphone and an external antenna. They can be used as a simple desktop base in a back to back system or as a sophisticated dispatcher with a trunking system. They may be located in the office, workshop, control room, home or any remote location where mains power is available. Battery backup is available where it is vital communication is maintained during mains power failures.
